Although she's doing the old standby "Sexy Witch," this girl said she was a big Ren Faire geek. She was nice enough to help me try to recreate a famous X-Men cover and the bar manager (who took the pics) was nice enough to let me play with the claws with out fear of getting arrested.

An alternate. You tell me which is better. I like this one because the claws are visibly coming out of my hand, but everything about the other is better.

This guy sat in front of us and hilarously ripped on anyone and everything at the Stan Lee thing, so if you like movies, comics, games, and that sort of thing, check out his podcast. He was also the only person to ask for a specific Wolverine pose- in this case the classic Fastball Special.

Along with an authentic Scarlet Witch who admirably filled out a revealing superhero costume, this guy and I lost a costume contest to a guy with a paper bag on his head at the Stan Lee Spider-man 2 screening/interview. Clever in-jokes always beat quality.

Even though he's a fellow mutant, I was a little unnerved standing next to The King of Pop. At least he had the good sense to set his image inducer to his old human form, like Beast and Nightcrawler sometimes do in public.

Although there were way too many Jack Sparrows and pirates in general this year, this guy was by far my favorite costume. He was 100% in character and was at one point entertaining a large crowd around him with his drunken antics, all perfectly tailored to each person's appearance or comments. I wish I would have gotten his email or something because he said his girlfriend made an excellent Phoenix costume that she didn't wear because everyone in their group was doing a pirate theme.

Another one of me and Jack. I wish it wasn't so dark.

Here's Jack's girlfriend. As good as her pirate costume was, I wish I got to see her Phoenix costme.

With some friendly buccaneers and medieval knight.

I wanted a pic wth Spidey on Hollywood Blvd for obvious reasons. He still asked me for a tip, even though I was in an even more authentic costume than him. Is there no profesional (or fan-to-fan) courtesy these days?!

One of the best zombies I've ever seen. I feel like he's a specific one, maybe the guy who bit the kid in the mini-mart in Land of the Dead? In any event, he liked my costume as much as I liked his.

My mom loves The Munsters, so I had to pose with these two- the best partner costumes of the evening. Herman even did that nervous thing he does when he gets happy.

With an authentic-looking Baseball Furie, who happened to sing for a good Sabbath-sounding band playing that night.

Security is pretty heavy-handed at Citywalk on Halloween (good thing I kept my metal claws iside m jacket pockets most of the night) and they made this guy take off his bunny mask. Fortunately, he kind of looks like Frank underneath! Unfortuntely, no bullet hole makeup.

Ladies really do love Logan. Most of the people who wanted pictures with or stared at me were girls and I'm having a hard time getting used to them paying no attention to me again when I'm out of costume. The two next to me took an interest in the costume while I was shopping for boots, so I kept my promise to stop by on Halloween.

My only regret is that I'm trying to look like a hardass instead of smiling. Oh and that I only spent a couple minutes talking to her.

So when does the pilot of your new sitcom, Suddenly Sexy, air? Triff I've missed you, but I can see why you're absent from the internet.

You're far too hot now.

Thank you, Linds. I've missed you too.

Seriously, it's all in the costume. I'm tempted to wear the wig every day. Just when I was coming to terms with going bald, it taught me all women really want is a badass with a full bottle of gel in his thick head of hair.

Up the Irons!

I wanna do a costume based on one of their album/single covers sometime. Maybe The Trooper, Piece of Mind, Aces High, or The Number of the Beast and walk around with a little devil marionette.

I recall telling you before that I thought you looked awesome in your Wolvie get-up, and the first time I ever saw pictures of you with the wig, I totally thought it was reall. Really, it does suit you. You always make the best looking Wolverine.

I do like that nightcrawler costume though. I'd love to make an Emma Frost costume, cause I adore her, but things like that take so much preparation and I am so lazy. I admire you for your dedication.

PS - Yes, the girls love Wolvie. You should have ended up with a million girls' phone numbers. Really. And if they didn't love Wolvie before, they do now, thanks to Hugh Jackson and you need to cash in on that!

All the girls I talked to and posed with- not a single number. I dunno how it happened. Maybe I was too in character and only had eyes for one girl and then got tongue-tied around her.

The only thing that would have bettered my X-perience was if I had someone to walk around with me in an appropriate costume. Doesn't need to be a hot girl in a revealing White Queen outfit (rrowl!), I'd have settled for one of my tall friends in fangs and glued-on sideburns tossing me around like Sabretooth (my man the Big Head would make a great X3 Beast with the tiniest bit of work). Hell, just any white dude who'd shave his head and let me push him around in a wheelchar! But I really am the only person I know around here who thinks this sort of thing is a good idea.

Yes, I am totally cashing in on the fact that, thanks to Hugh (who I met briefly outside The Prestige premiere!!), Wolverine is now a hearthrob. Now I just need to find a girl who makes an equally good Jean, Deathstike, Rogue, Storm, or Mystique, and this costume will be complete!

(How hot would it be to see two dead ringers for Wolvie and Deathstrike walking around together, all bloody and black leather ripped up from their fight in X2? Every geek has his fantasy!)

Now if I can just find an excuse to dress up as Wolverine every day, my girl problems will be solved!

Great icons, btw.

You look great.

I think you outdid all the cuties you posed with. Very hot, Triffin.

All those costumes... damn, people here certainly don't put that much care into their costumes. I think when walking around town you most often see the "I'm naked" costume and it's variants.

Re: You look great.

Thank you!

Yeah, I am strongly against the pointlessly slutty costumes- especially when there are so many ways on Halloween to be creatively naked. However, there's plenty of that here (maybe even moreso). I just posed with some good ones.

Love the pic with the guy being Nightcrawler...I was an Xmen cartoon junkie when I was little and now the movies are great so yay. You look very Loganesque BTW. Good pics with the claws.

Thanks! Nightcrawler was one of the highlights of the movies, so I was impressed to see him done so well in person. Too bad you can't see his tail in the pic!

I loved the cartoons, too (just recently downloaded the entire series on a torrent). They really delved into all the classic X-Men stories so they were awesome for a certified comic nerd like me.

Compliments from fellow fans mean the world to me. I'm big on doing charcters you resemble, but if you're feelin' Jubilee, people would feel you (especially as such an underappreciated character)! It's all in your attitude (not that all the attitude in the world would make me a good Darth Vader at 5'9" in boots). Since I was Movie Logan, you could have been Movie Rogue (an easy costume). I'd tell you to grab your hoop earrings, yellow coat, and rock out with me, but you live in Mass. There's always cons, right?

If you ever get your costume together or have done any related ones (even if it's not one of my many female proteges), I want to see 'em!

Greatness through Iron Maiden

I always knew about Maiden, but was never really a fan for some reason. I don't know what flipped the switch, but now it's all I listen to. I keep at least one Maiden CD in my car at all times in case of surprise bouts of depression and have been learning some of the easier songs on guitar. I even did a lovely drawing of Eddie on my mix CD in Sharpie.
